"I
am a 42 year old woman who can
honestly say I can't remember not
having a headache since I was 8 or 9
years old. My mom took me to all
different kinds of doctors, taking
every test known to man, to see why I
had headaches.
Headaches have
always been normal for me. I
don't know if I was born with a neck
torsion or if through several
accidents I just made things worse.
I was a cowgirl and
had a very fun and wild horse, which I
loved to race! However there
were a few times my saddle slipped and
I ended up hitting the pavement at
full speed ahead. Or, times when
she reared up and fell back on top of
me. Also, several times I hit
pavement rollerblading too fast down
the hill, not being able to stop with
out falling down.
I am a strong woman
who just though taking a lot of "NSAIDs"
daily was as normal as taking
Vitamin-C.
When moving to Italy
in 1996 I had a head collision, and
then another car t-boned me.
From then on my body has never been
the same.
Like I said I am
very fit, I am a personal trainer and
a competitive fitness professional (or
at least I was). Until 2003 my
body continued to grow weaker, and the
pain increased. Not really
understanding what was really wrong
with me, the doctors looked at me like
a deer in the headlights, and just
suggested I take antidepressants,
since it must be in my head because
they didn't know why I was hurting so
bad. They tried: I had 2
epidurals, 36 facet shots in my spine,
physical therapy, chiropractic and
acupuncture therapy, and took 4
different kinds of pain pills a day.
Then... I finally
found a doctor who was willing to come
along side and help me. Finding
several things wrong with me
inside-stage 4 endometriosis,
interstitial cystis, and 3
ulcers. Yet the spine problems
still weren't full clear... something
still wasn't right.
I had headaches so
bad and the pain in my neck and upper
back had gone from a continuous 6-7
pain scale daily to 10+. The
pain was unbearable. During this
time I had more mouth pieces than the
professional football team! I
had 3 different dentist/oral
specialist at one time just trying
different things to help with the
pain. I had cracked 8 teeth from
the severe pain I was in, and the
secondary grinding and gritting from
this pain.
When we moved to VA
in March of 2006 I didn't know what I
was going to do about the lingering
pain. I just happened to pick up
a health magazine and found an article
about Dr. Vann who did a procedure
called the ALF?? I didn't know
what it was but I thought I can't go
wrong by just talking with her.
She explained to me how the ALF had
worked on herself and how she had
helped several people with pain
similar to mine. So my husband
and I decided to step out in faith,
because at this point nothing had
worked so far (I should mention at
this point that my husband is a
medical executive for one of the
largest world-wide health care systems
and too was at his wits end with
helping to find a traditional
cure). We sat down and knew
financially it would be a stretch...
but if it worked it would be well
worth it!
Within 3 weeks of
having the ALF the pain had dropped
30%. The headaches got fewer,
and for the first time in my life I
knew what it was like to not wake up
with a headache. When I did get
a headache it just meant the ALF
needed adjusted. Through the
next year the pain got less and less,
and now I am on the home
stretch. My braces or on and for
the first time in years my teeth fit
together. My face and head don't
hurt all the time, and I feel somewhat
normal!!
I am not 100% better
but I can honestly say that 80% is
doing super for me and I'm faithful
this will increase to total health!
If you're someone
who has chronic head and neck pain and
you have tried everything under the
sun... Dr. Vann's procedure just might
be the one for you. It can't
hurt to get evaluated to see if it
could make a difference for you -
could it?
Thanks Dr. Vann
first and foremost for putting up with
me! And second for truly
changing my life.
